Meet Prince, a stunning white Turkish Angora with blue eyes. Despite his regal beauty, Prince started his life as a street cat and was suffering from mange and an infected bite when he came to foster care. He also tested postive for FIV, a cat virus that is not transferable to humans or other animals. Although it is uncurable cats, with FIV can live normal, healthy lives. A friend of ours has an FIV+ cat who is a healthy 17 years old! See below for more on FIV.

Prince is highly active and loves to run laps around the house and chase toys. He seems to enjoy making himself slide across the slick kitchen floor like a cartoon character. I do let him socialize with my other cats and he wants to be around them, though he is a little too playful for some of them.  Although he likes being around other cats, he'd do well as an only cat too, or with a dog. Like most Turkish Angoras, Prince has a bold personality and will want to be the King of his house.

Prince likes being around people too and is getting more accustomed to being petted and held. He rolls on his back and purrrs loudly when you stroke him. Because he was a street cat for much of his young life he has been learning good manners here in his foster home and is doing great. This cat is very intelligent and taught himself to use the cats doors where our other cats had to be shown. He also knows to jump back in his crate when I tap on it. I call him "Circus Cat" for his antics and ability to learn little tricks!

If you are looking for a beautiful, sociable and highly amusing kitty, Prince is your boy!

FIV is contagious to other cats ONLY through a deep, penetrating bite or sexual intercourse...not by sharing food or water bowls, grooming each other, scratches or non-penetrating nips.

Prince is currently in private care at Kitten School foster home located 5 miles south of downtown Orlando. Reach out to his foster mom Caroline to schedule a time to come meet him and other available cats and kittens!

* I do not have proof that Prince is full blooded Turkish Angora, but google the breed and you can see the uncanny resemblance, physically and personality-wise!

Adoption details: All Kitten School foster cats are adopted through Orange County Animal Services (OCAS). Adopters must go in person to OCAS to complete application prior to taking their cat home. OCAS is located near the Millennia Mall off Conroy.

Adoption Fee: $40, though OCAS often runs adoption specials. Includes spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, FIV testing, and microchip.

Additional Adoption Notes: OCAS and Kindess for Cats are vehemently opposed to declawing cats. Any cat or kitten adopted through us must not be declawed. Adoptions are first come, first serve based on eligibility. Please make sure you are certain that having a cat or kitten will suit your lifestyle before adopting; it is not fair to the animals who are returned due to circumstances that should have been foreseen, such as allergies, grumpy roommates, or landlord issues.
