Meet Opal! After raising her babies and watching them all get adopted, while she was sadly overlooked, this sweet girl is looking for her happy ending. Opal LOVES to be pet and scratched, especially around her ears/head and just above her tail. She is a shy gal, but she is always gentle and she also LOVES other cats. Her foster mom introduced her to her resident cats and she immediately approached them for nuzzles and head butts. She is FIV+, but this is truly nothing to fear. She will live a full life and, aside from being aware that she has a weaker immune system, her diagnosis does not require special medical attention. FIV is most often transmitted through a deep puncture wound from an infected cat. Therefore, cats who test positive for FIV CAN live with FIV-negative cats with minimal risk of transmission as long as they do not fight to the point of biting. For more information, please visit https://www.alleycat.org/resources/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv/.

Opal is a gentle girl who loves the company of other cats and kittens, so she will be a wonderful addition in a quiet home that can give her time to open up and feel safe with them. Her adoption fee is $50 - she is spayed, microchipped, negative for FeLV, and has all of her initial vaccines. To meet Opal, please email her foster mom at: jnmarrie@gmail.com.
